Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing Mr. and Mrs. Scaggs’ stunning wedding day at Newburgh United Methodist Church. As soon as I arrived, I knew it was going to be a really special day. The day kicked off with both excitement and nerves as the bride and groom prepared for their big moment. The couple was surrounded by their supportive bridal parties all morning as they got ready for the big day!
The First Look
Before the ceremony, we planned a private “first look” session outside the church. This is always one of my favorite parts of the day; the look on their faces when they see each other for the first time is priceless. The groom couldn’t contain his look of shock and joy as he turned to see his bride! They held each other tight as soaked up the moment and took everything in. It’s these genuine moments that make wedding photography so rewarding! Right after the first look, we jumped right into the bride and groom portraits. The pure joy radiating off of them was incredible, and the photos show it all!
The Ceremony
The ceremony at Newburgh United Methodist Church was intimate and heartfelt. The church’s classic architecture and warm atmosphere added a timeless feel to the vows and the exchanging of rings. This was a very special decision for the couple as it was their home church! Which only elevated the powerful emotions you could feel in the room. You could sense the love and support from everyone present, making it more than just a ceremony, but a real celebration of love and commitment.
The Reception and Ice Cream Surprise
Following the ceremony, it was time for the reception! It was a night full of dancing, laughter, and countless memories made. The highlight had to be JB’s Barnyard Ice Cream truck, which was a hit with guests of all ages! This unique touch brought everyone together, laughing and enjoying custom-made ice cream cones and sundaes. All in all, Mr. and Mrs. Scaggs’ wedding day at Newburgh United Methodist Church was an absolute joy to photograph. I can’t wait to see the journey that lies ahead for them!
